Gambling on Life

This piece is based on a web-based animation I created years ago for the Gambling on Life series.

"Gambling on Life" started with a choice: Do I go to rheumatology, or pain management first? I opted to do pain management first, with the idea being that I could get my pain under control and then focus on earning more money thanks to being more active in general.

Not too long after starting pain management I actually had to quit; Work told me that - despite working from a desk in an office - taking medication that made me dizzy was an OSHA violation, and I had to stop.. And I couldn't afford to keep visiting the specialists to try new medication, deal with missing work, and more.

I was later able to resume the series with rheumatology years later, and have continued to develop it years later, discussing all the complications, hurdles, successes and failures of pursuing treatment for my many chronic ailments.. Some of which only became apparent in recent years.
