Grand Landscape

Well over half my life ago (sometime in 2001) I created this piece: The goal? Craft a landscape from a series of images of rusted out car parts and my digital painting technique. The problem was this was in the early days of the web, where hi-resolution source imagery was practically non-existent for a broke college student. So, this piece would never be scaled large enough to print at anything but a thumbnail size.

Now we have spectacular upscaling software that can do wondrous things. This piece was carefully upscaled while still retaining the feel of the original, and I am proud to finally be able to see this in a large format.
