A Trump Quote Machine: DJT Says

Oh look, Will built yet another leftist-energy-fueled activist website bashing Trump and his administration.

After I built the CHAOS Tracker, I felt a void in my life: I love coding, and I love resisting fascism. What was a guy to do?

Well, I've had an idea for a new morale patch for a while now: A unique portrait of Trump. The problem is, my extremely-and-freshly-broken-in-new-ways body wasn't cooperating with me to let me do the proper illustration work, so it sat unfinished for quite a while.

About a week ago I finaly had the strength in the early-as-fuck AM hours (usually my best time right now in regards to pain and nerve issues, although my dexterity is shit all around lately) to do the illustration you see above, and you could say I became.. inspired.

Thus, my latest project - a Trump quote machine called DJT Says - was born. I ditched the patch idea (it just doesn't work in that format, although stickers are available here)

If you've kept reading thus far, kudos to you for keeping an open mind. I know I have a lot of connections to Trump-country. I live in a very red town. Most of my family is solidly right-leaning, and thinks things like medicare-for-all are communism, and they bought the communism = bad propaganda early on in life.

It's extremely disheartening to be surrounded by folks celebrating actions that are solidly within the mold of fascism, and DJT Says is as much a catharsis for me as a utility for exposing, well.. So much of the awful, dumbass shit that comes out of his disgusting mouth.

CHAOS Tracker is purely informative. DJT Says is informative and offensive.

Some folks don't listen to calm and rational arguments (I mean, c'mon, they voted for Trump), and need that in-your-face push to get them to see reality.. And I brought the goddamned receipts with DJT Says.

Each quote comes with at least 1 citation for the quote, and a number of them come with multiple.

I personally researched each and every one, which.. Let me tell you, was a task. Not finding the sources or quotes themselves; no, that's easy.. But just the sheer fact that he has said so much bullshit makes me incredibly sad. As of writing this I've put in (heh, Putin) over 50 quotes into the platform.

Anyway, speaking of platforms, I repurposed the same CMS I built for the CHAOS Tracker to be used here. That sped up development considerably, and I think I'll end up extending the CMS further to be used for more projects, given how much I hate platforms like WordPress. If I get it into a good usable state for average folks, I'll probably end up releasing it open-source.

We've got some big stuff coming, too: I've got plans to organize further, and hope to be announcing something really cool for my fellow hackers (as in folks in STEM who enjoy creative applications of their knowledge - not to be confused with crackers who break into systems illegally) to help resist even more in the future.
