When life becomes a souls-like

Get that seratonin hit any (legal) way you can

Living for a lot of folks is akin to a slog through a shit-soaked meadow where the colors are just slightly off, and the random fauna you encounter is decidedly not interested in coming anywhere near you except in the occasions where they want to bite you in the genital region.

Especially right now.

If you're a spoonie like me?

Yeah, it's less of a meadow and more like a thorny bush that - while it is flowering - you're also allergic to the pollen produced by the flowers.

Still, I try to seek out that seratonin any way I can (within legal limits, because my neurodivergent ass does not get seratonin from breaking the law typically).

I love animals. They are way better than humans (especially a significant chunk of my fellow Americans, who are absolute shit-bags who voted for Trump)..

I am also severely allergic to them, so I don't get to spend much time with them.. When I do, however, I take advantage of it.

I pet that doggo or kitty, and then immediately go and wash my hands.. Because I deserve that goddamned seratonin.

I love making music; I've been doing it for most of my life, and even made part of my living doing it. I was an accomplished classical and jazz trombonist until I was diagnosed with TMJ disorder and couldn't play..

..So I threw myself harder into guitar, and became an accomplished guitarist.. Until my arthritis and CMT made performing impossible. So I have now thrown myself into studio work, and have even explored new genres and production techniques..

..Because I deserve that goddamned seratonin.

I enjoy gaming; It became a respite for my severely broken body since I was in the single digits and trapped inside due to outside being effectively toxic for me at times.

As I got older and my body failed me in new ways, though. Gaming became more of a challenge, and I was no longer able to flex my competitive chops like I could in the past. So, I started exploring different games, and found new interfaces to let me explore those games comfortably..

..Because I deserve that mother fucking seratonin.. and so do you.

It's hard to find ways to be happy sometimes, but all it takes is a little patience and some problem-solving skills and you'll find new ways to get that seratonin hit.. Even if it's fleeting, and you lose that method to new complications, it's worth it.

Hell, the act of defying the image presented by the goddamned broken fun-house mirror directed by David Lynch (RIP) is a seratonin hit for me.

Fuck the world and find your bliss, friends. It's there for all of us.. It's just harder for some of us to find than others.
